PlayNewtDeskling is a free cozy virtual pet released on itch.io on October 26, 2026. Hatch one of four creatures: Mochi the rice-cake cat, Ember the tiny dragon, Boo the shy ghost or Sprout the leafy blob. It only grows when you focus: run 15, 25 or 50 minute sessions and every focused minute gives 1 XP plus coins.

How it works

  • Built-in focus timer with 15, 25 and 50 minute sessions.
  • Five evolution stages: Baby, Kid, Teen, Adult and Legend.
  • Feed, play, bathe and tuck in your pet; its stats decay while you are away.
  • Spend focus coins on bows, caps, crowns and halos in the hat shop.
  • Pop out mode floats your pet above other windows in Chrome or Edge (picture-in-picture), from the full version at deskling.vercel.app.
  • A free account syncs your pet and adds a leaderboard and share page.

Tips

  • Use 25-minute sessions for a Pomodoro rhythm.
  • Check in between sessions to feed and play, since stats drop while you are away.
