What kind of game is Foxfire?
Foxfire is a short game about reading tells. A copy looks exactly like Tally the fox but cannot touch anything. The real fox casts a shadow that moves with your lantern, makes the hens flinch and leaves prints in the hay. Each night Tally learns a new trick: one copy, three copies, the shuffle, fake shadows and, on the last night, the hay.
How to play Foxfire
- Dash into a fox to tag it. Tag the real Tally and every copy pops; tag a copy and it bursts into smoke and dazes you.
- Read the foxes out in the yard. Once the pack reaches the coop, every fox sprints for the door.
- If the real fox reaches the door it takes a hen, and lost hens stay lost. Lose them all and you replay the night.
- Your lantern burns oil. Grab the jugs in the yard, or the lamp goes dark and the shadows go with it.

Tips
- Watch the shadow, not the fox. It is the one tell that works every night.
- Keep an eye on the oil. Without light there are no shadows to read.
- Do not dash at the first fox you see; a wrong tag dazes you while the real one runs.
